Lu Yiming reluctantly picked up the phone. “Hello?”
“This is the Imperial Hospital. I’m Director Liang Chi. We have a patient who is in a critical fever phase. We hope you can come here to assist with the treatment.”
Lu Yiming was already feeling exasperated. He replied coldly, “I have no obligation to help.”
“The patient has a special identity,” Liang Chi continued, “If you agree to assist, we will offer you a generous reward once the patient’s situation stabilizes. You can decide the amount.”
Upon hearing this, Lu’s father leaned in and brazenly said, “We want ten billion star coins. Can you afford that?”
“That’s fine.”
Lu’s father clearly did not expect such a straightforward answer. He suddenly regretted not asking for more.
However, ten billion would be enough to get them through this crisis.
They arrived at the hospital and met with Liang Chi.
Liang Chi glanced at Lu Yiming and then at the middle-aged couple beside him. “You wait outside. You come with me.”
Lu Yiming was led to the front of the ward.
Liang Chi said, “This patient is quite special, so be mentally prepared.”
He opened the door and ushered Lu Yiming inside.
Even with a glass barrier between them, the scene before Liang Chi and Lu Yiming was shocking.
The intensive care unit was devoid of any sharp objects. Ye Linyuan was biting his own arm, blood mixed with sweat dripping to the floor.
His cold lips seemed to be stained with the most brilliant flower juice, creating a bizarre yet hauntingly beautiful contrast.
Lu Yiming was stunned. “Director Ye?”
Liang Chi paused. “You know him?”
“I’m a student at the Military Academy. Is he the patient you’re speaking of?”
Liang Chi nodded.
A greedy light flickered in Lu Yiming’s eyes. Although he didn’t understand why Ye Linyuan had become an Omega, he would not pass up such a significant opportunity.
Omegas would develop a dependency on the Alpha that marked them. If he could seize this chance to mark Ye Linyuan permanently, his path in the Military Academy would be clear.
Wasn’t this better than ten billion?
As this thought crossed his mind, Lu Yiming’s excitement overpowered his fear. “Can I go in now?”
Liang Chi said, “You’d better wait a bit longer.”
He was concerned that directly admitting Lu Yiming might lead to trouble. But Lu Yiming insisted, “Isn’t he in pain right now? I’m the Alpha with the highest compatibility for him; our pheromones will merge automatically.”
After some hesitation, Liang Chi judged that given the injuries Ye Linyuan had sustained and the prolonged pain, there was likely no danger.
“Alright.”
He opened the door, allowing Lu Yiming to enter.
Once inside, Lu Yiming began releasing his pheromones, but soon realized something was off.
The pheromones in the air were sharp and overwhelming; with each additional ounce of his own pheromones released, he felt an intense pain in the back of his neck as if stabbed with needles.
Ye Linyuan’s pheromones were aggressive?!
Lu Yiming fell to the ground, covering his gland in agony.
Liang Chi’s expression changed slightly. “Are you okay?”
Ye Linyuan stood, blood dripping from his fingertips as he approached, resembling a ghost, his cold gaze fixated on the writhing Lu Yiming on the ground, as if observing an ant.
“You think you can mark me?”
Lu Yiming felt an unprecedented threat; trembling, he said, “Director Ye, I just want to save you.”
Ye Linyuan let out a cold laugh.
He yanked Lu Yiming off the ground and slammed him against the glass, looking out at Liang Chi beyond.
“I told you, anyone who comes in here won’t leave on their feet.”
As his words fell, his pheromones transformed into blades, and blood suddenly erupted from Lu Yiming’s neck, splattering against the glass.
With a scream, Lu Yiming lost consciousness.
Ye Linyuan smashed the control panel by the door, carelessly throwing Lu Yiming out as if he were trash, and then manually shut the door.
This wretched place could not withstand his violence.
Just before the door closed, a wisp of pheromone escaped.
Liang Chi had never encountered such a terrifying pheromone before; it was icy and filled with a chilling aura.
Cold sweat drenched his back, leaving him feeling chilled.
Ye Linyuan’s vision blurred as he approached the washbasin, meticulously cleaning the hand that had touched the garbage.
Blood turned the water red, forming a small vortex that vaguely reflected his current self.
He was a monster.
An Omega without reproductive organs, yet the pheromones were aggressive.
The water flow whitened his skin.
At that moment, the holographic communicator suddenly beeped, and Ye Linyuan snapped back to reality, retracting his hand.
He opened the communicator.

Tong Sui: [You almost broke your record!]
His finger passed through the virtual screen but received no warmth, causing his heart to pang painfully.
Would Tong Sui like a monster?
At the Imperial Noble Central Hospital,
Tong Sui lay on a hospital bed, an IV line attached to the back of his hand.
He looked peaceful while asleep, his fiery red hair softly brushing his forehead. His long, thick eyelashes framed pale lips that appeared devoid of color.
A circle of people surrounded the bed—mentors, classmates, roommates, and several ministers.
Duan Jiamu had a bandage wrapped around his forehead, holding Jiang Che’s hand anxiously. “Doctor, why hasn’t he woken up yet?”
The doctor replied, “He might have experienced significant trauma; he needs more time.”
“Your Highness, why don’t you go home and rest?” the captain of the guards suggested. “You’re injured too, don’t wear yourself out.”
Duan Jiamu insisted, “No, I’ll wait here until he wakes up.”
